Concetta Minio, 98, of Dayville, CT, died Thursday June 10, 2010 peacefully at Westview Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Cattolica Eraclea, Italy. She was the wife of the late Carmelo Minio, they were married October 1928 in St. Joseph Church in Brooklyn, NY. He died March 6, 1986. Daughter of the late Joseph and Antonina (Borsellino) Curreri. She had made her home in Danielson since 1941 moving from Brooklyn, NY.
She was a communicant of St. James Church. She enjoyed knitting and sewing. She worked for the former Gant Shirt Factory in Wauregan, a job she held until its closing. She retired in 1974 after working 16 years for Acme Chaston of Dayville. She was a devoted and caring mother, grandmother, mother in-law and sister.
She leaves her children: Joseph Minio and his wife Cathy of Greenwich, CT, Richard Minio and his wife Claire of Dayville, CT, her daughter in-law: Michelle Minio of Rockville Center, NY, her sisters: Josephine and Teresa Curreri of Seaford, LI, NY, her grandchildren: Joseph, Christopher, Richard, Kristen, Carl and Michelle, four great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Anthony Minio in 2001, a brother Alfonse Curreri, a sister Angelina Maltese.
The Funeral Service will be Saturday June 12, 2010 at 10:15 AM from the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, CT followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. James Church,12 Franklin Street, Danielson. Calling Hours Friday, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Saturday, from 9:00 to10:15 AM at the Funeral Home, burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson.
