Melvin Tedisky, 80, of Rhode Island, formerly of Putnam, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Roger Williams Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of the late Charlotte (Ash) Tedisky, she died January 8, 2000, they were married March 31, 1951. He was born October 19, 1929 in Providence, RI, son of the late Samuel and Sarah (Rubin) Tedisky.

Melvin was a long time member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Pomfret. The Church was a big part of Melvin’s life, being a part of the Vestry and singing in the Choir. He had made his home in Putnam most of his life, a lifelong New York Yankees fan. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. His family was very important to him throughout his life.

He is survived by two sons and their wives Michael and Meribeth Tedisky of Woodstock, CT, Steven and Jessica Tedisky of Groton, CT a daughter and her husband Karen and John Ciccone of Chelmsford, MA, his sister Evelyn Pastor of California, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Lisa Tedisky, she died December 16, 2009.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, June 26, 2010 at the Christ Episcopal Church, 521 Pomfret Street, Pomfret, burial following in Christ Church Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
