Kazmiera “Kay” Vandale, 89, of Ballouville, CT, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011 at the Village of Waterman Lake in Greenville, RI. She was born January 16, 1922 in Harrison, NJ, daughter of the late Philip and Mary (Lacz) Grzysiewicz.
She married Roland Vandale at St. Anne’s Church in Ballouville in 1942. She was a communicant of St. Anne’s Church in Ballouville until its closing. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and was an avid church patron and volunteered at the church. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and loved to garden. She retired as an LPN from Westview Nursing Home.
She is survived by her husband Roland, her three sons; James Vandale and his wife Renae of Sterling, CT, Roland ”Danny” Vandale and his wife Joan of North Stonington, CT, and Mark Vandale and his wife Debra of Shelburne Falls, MA, her daughter Nancy Young and her husband Dan of Gilbert, AZ. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was predeceased by brothers, John and Joseph, sisters, Stephanie and Josephine.
Calling hours Wednesday from 9:00 to 10:30 am at the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Church, 350 Hartford Pike Dayville, CT, followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
