Obituary of Kobe Blake Woodmansee

Kobe Blake Woodmansee May 20, 2015 - July 29, 2015 Kobe Blake Woodmansee was granted his Angel wings on July 29,2015, following a battle with premature birth at only 25 weeks weighing only 1 lb 11 oz and having severe chronic lung disease. His entire 70 days of life were spent surrounded by family and friends and NICU staff, that Kobe touched in many ways throughout his short yet very memorable life. Kobe's life would seem to short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His gentle smile and most precious face could melt the hearts around him and though he never spoke a word, his voice and thoughts could always be heard. Although Kobe's battle made him appear frail, he possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds physically challenges. With his courage he led us to believe that each day is truly a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. With Kobe's passing we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him dearly each and everyday, we will carry him with us and he will remain in our hearts forever. Through his teachings about life, we were able to create wonderful memories and it has been a privilege to be his parents. We are so very thankful that Kobe's big sister Amiyah met her brother so she can hold dear and cherish the memories of Kobe's gentle spirit. I am also very thankful that Kobe and his twin sister Alyvia had the chance to be put together. Kobe leaves behind many wonderful nurses that provided love, support, and continuous care that enhanced his quality of life. Kobe's love extends to his phenomenal team; Tabitha, Lynn, Kayla, Paula, Joann, and Jenna, Demaris, and Jennifer. There is also a special place in our hearts for Dr. Pelligrini, Dr. Weiner, and Dr. Picarillo, because of their continual support and dedication, Kobe was able to survive some of his toughest challenges. With all of these very special people to numerous to mention, provided Kobe with love and dignity in his life and also in his death. With extreme heartfelt thanks to the entire Neonatal Intensive Care Unit's staff at Umass Memorial Hospital. Kobe is survived by his loving parents Alysia Stiggle and Kyle Woodmansee of Dayville, CT ; Twin sister Alyvia Woodmansee and big sister Amiyah Woodmansee ; maternal grandparents Betty Jo and Delroy Blair ; Paternal grandparents Joanne Thompson and Earl Woodmansee ; Great grandparents Gloria and Melvyn Stiggle-Wheeler, Richard and Cheryl Dauphinais, and Crystal Dauphinais. Kobe also leaves behind numerous Aunts and Uncles ; Brittany, Jaliyah, Michelle, Kelly, Amanda, Matt, Courtney, Jimmy, Robert, Tammy, Cathy, Josh, Patricia, John, Camille, and Michael. Calling hours are to be held in Wednesday August 12, 2015 from 6-7pm at Gagnon-Costello Funeral Home 33 Reynolds St Danielson, Ct 06239.
