Obituary of Laurette A. Daigle

Laurette A. Daigle 82, of Killingworth, CT, died Tuesday at the Middlesex Hospital, Middletown, CT. Wife of the late George A. Daigle, he died in 2013. She was born April 23, 1933 in Putnam, CT, daughter of the late Alfred G. and Laurette E. (Gravel) Mayotte. She was a devoted communicant of St. Lawrence Church in Killingworth for many years. In 1949 she entered the convent and served as a Dominican Nun in Camden, NJ, and also served for over ten years in monasteries in Rome, Italy, Fatima Portugal, and remained a third order Dominican tertiary after exiting the convent. She enjoyed traveling to Denmark to visit her grandchildren. Laurette enjoyed helping her neighbors and had a strong sense of charity. She leaves two sons Kenneth and Karen Daigle of Madison, CT and Michael and Christine Daigle of Killingworth, CT, her sister Mina Santomenno and Tony of Glastonbury, CT; her beloved grandchildren Thomas, Mathew, John and Gabrielle. Calling Hours will be Monday August 24, 2015 from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Mary Church, 218 Providence Street, Putnam, burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
