Obituary of Marie Ann Mee

Marie A. Mee (Wilcox) April 24, 1929 - November 23, 2015 Danielson-Marie A. Mee (Wilcox), passed away Monday, November 23, 2015. Daughter of Frances Ann and Russell Sage Wilcox, wife of 61 years of James Henry Mee (deceased), mother of Anna Lobosco (Charles Sr.), Jean Mee (Jeanne Cooper), Jeff Mee and Judy Rosenthal (Scott). Grandmother of Charles Lobosco Jr. (Jane), Amanda Reed (Bryan,Sr.), Nicholas Lobosco (Justine) and Dennis Lobosco (Jackie Hall). Great-Grandmother to Bryan Reed Jr., Madyson Reed, Charles Lobosco III, Jonathan Lobosco and Jamyson Reed. Marie is survived by her sister Gertrude Oldfield, brother James Wilcox and sister-in-law Josephine Wilcox and was predeceased by her brother Russell "Bud" Wilcox. Marie was a recent resident at Creamery Brook in Brooklyn CT, previously living in Danielson CT, Nashua NH, Merrimack NH, Ormand Beach FL, Deltona FL, Highland NY, Poughkeepsie NY, Parsippany NJ, Monroe NY, Rockledge FL, Endwell NY, Hudson MA, Endicott NY, Binghamton, NY and Wilkes Barre, PA. Marie was a regular visitor to the Brooklyn Senior Center, attending the monthly luncheons. She was a volunteer at Friends of Assisi Food Pantry in Danielson CT, Corpus Christi Food Pantry, Nashua NH, Right to Life Center in Deltona FL, Special Needs Gardening program in Deltona FL, the Nazarene Young Womens' Home in Esopus NY, where Marie and her husband were both volunteers and on the board of directors. Marie was also a master gardener. Marie completed her training in psychiatric nursing at Binghamton State Hospital. Through her career she was a registered nurse, working at a variety of hospitals, physicians' offices and skilled care facilities. She was part of the Operating Room team for the first open heart surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and staffed one of the nation's first intensive coronary care units. Mid-way through her working career she went back to school at night to earn a degree in business administration. Calling hours 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. James Church, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson, CT 06239. Burial at Saratoga National Cemetery to be scheduled at a later date. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marie's life.
