Obituary of Ruth A. C. Norman

Ruth A.C. Johnson Norman, 90. of Woodstock, died peacefully Sunday September 16. 2012 at Matulaitis Nursing Home in Putnam. She was the wife of Harry C. Norman who passed away July 3. 2009. She was born October 13, 1921, in Woodstock, daughter of the late Ernest and Ruth (Petterson) Johnson. Living in the Johnson home all her life, she married Harry, October 21, 1944. She moved to Matulitis in December of 2008 to be with her husband Harry. After graduation from Woodstock Academy she worked for the Town of Woodstock for several years. She served on the Woodstock Academy Board of Trustees. She was a loving example of the Proverbs 31 woman. Ruth was a lifelong member of the Evangelical Covenant Church, often playing the organ and piano. She worked beside her husband in their greenhouses for over 50 years. For over 30 years she assisted Harry, working on the grounds of the Word of Life Camps in Schroon Lake NY. Ruth served in the Auxiliary of the Gideon Northeast Camp. She is survived by her sons; Clayton Norman and his wife Joy of New Milford CT, Carl Norman and his wife Nancy of Woodstock, grandchildren. Jason Norman and his wife Melissa of Elizabethtown Pa. Michael Norman and his wife Jenn of Eastford. and Joanna Fitte and her husband Rich of Woodstock; great grandchildren; Drew. Aubrey, Rayne and Mitchell.
