David M. Howe, Sr., 88 of Abington, CT, died Sunday, December 16, 2018 at the Westview Health Care Center in Dayville after a long illness. He was the husband of Lorraine (Moreira) Howe, she passed away July 25, 2003. He was born in Pomfret, CT August 5, 1930, son of the late Harvey Q. and Elsie (Bowen) Howe.
David was an engineer and worked at the Rogers Corp for over 40 years. His interests and hobbies were Russian music, math, racing, genealogy, history, theater, his tractors and reading. David could fix anything and was the unofficial town historian. He was the lead crew on several of his grandson’s NYU student film shoots. He leaves his son David M. Howe, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Abington, his daughter Linda Hall and her partner Ken of Lake City, FL; grandchildren Lucas Howe of Brooklyn, NY; Emmanuelle Howe-O’Neal of Pomfret, Maria Hall of Lake City, FL, David Hall USAF stationed in Europe, several nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT. A Memorial Service will be Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Abington Congregational Church, 542 Hampton Road, Abington, CT. Burial in the spring in Abington Cemetery.
