Harriette Downey November 8, 1927 , September 11, 2009 Harriette Ann Daley Downey, 81, of Proulx Street, Brooklyn, died Friday September 11, 2009 at the Pierce Memorial Baptist Home in Brooklyn. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent Downey, Sr. he died in 1992. She was born in Hyde Park, Vermont, daughter of the late George and Jeannette (Sinclair) Daley. She attended schools in Vermont and graduated from the Meriden Hospital School of Nursing in Meriden, CT in 1949. Harriette was a communicant of ST James Church in Danielson. She spent her life working as a nurse until her retirement in 1996. Her greatest joy and rewards were her family and her profession. She leaves her daughter Lynn Lanzoni and her husband Michael of Plainfield, her son David P. Downey and his wife Karen of Wallingford, two grandsons: Michael Lanzoni, Jr. and Matt Lanzoni, a sister: Ellen Lay of Alameda, CA, a brother George Daley of Omeemee, Canada, three nieces and one nephew. Predeceased by a son, Vincent J. Downey, Jr., December 18, 2005. Funeral services and interment are private. Donations may be made in her memory to Hospice NE CT, PO Box 632, Putnam, CT 06260.
