Margaret Bennett, 86, of Hamden, CT formerly of Putnam. Died Wednesday April 3, 2013 at the Whitney Manor in Hamden. She was the wife of the late Thomas A. Bennett, they were married January 7, 1950 in Bloomington, IL, he died November 8, 2004. She was born August 27, 1926 in Havana, IL, daughter of the late William and Eva (Powell) Shore. She volunteered at Day Kimball Hospital and was a member of the HighPointe Church in Thompson. She enjoyed playing golf with her husband. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She leaves her son: Dale R. Bennett and his wife Debbie of Plano, TX; her two daughters: Terri Pearsall and her husband William of Putnam; Cathy Johns and her husband Timothy of Hamden; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Louis Shore. A Calling Hour will be Monday April 8, 2013 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT followed by a Graveside Service at 11:00 AM in Grove Street Cemetery, Grove Street, Putnam.
