Aileen A. Carlson, 82 of Pomfret, CT, died Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at the University Massachusetts Medical Center, Worcester, MA. She was the beloved wife of Jack S. Carlson; they were married July 17, 1954. She was born February 19, 1928 in Worcester, daughter of the late John and Zoralide (Therrien) Ask.
Aileen worked for over twenty five years as a research Librarian at the American Optical in Southbridge, MA. She was an active member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Woodstock; served as Church Secretary for many years and was a member of the Church Choir. Aileen was a loving and caring wife and mother. She had made her home in Pomfret for the last 19 years. She enjoyed traveling to Europe with her daughter. She enjoyed auto racing, her passion was the Indianapolis 500, which she made 43 trips to with her husband.
She leaves her husband Jack, daughter Rebecca Carlson of Naperville, Ill, and three nephews.
Funeral Service will be Monday at 1:00 PM at the Evangelical Covenant Church, 24 Child Road, Woodstock, CT. Visitation at the church from 12:30 PM until time of service. Burial in Elmvale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations made be made in her memory to the Evangelical Covenant Church or the American Heart Association, PO Box 5022, Wallingford, CT 06492.
