James “Gray Ghost” Pipkin, 89, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011 in Putnam. Husband of the late Maggie (Byrd). He was born March 19, 1922 in North Carolina. He was a Textile Worker for area mills. He leaves his children James, Johnny, Jerome, Terry, Aggie and Doris, and a sister, Eva. Predeceased by children Aretha and Willie. Calling hours will be Monday, August 1, 2011 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with a Service at 12:00 Noon at Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove St. Putnam, CT.
