Obituary of Mary Wright
Mary Elizabeth Kupiec
April 18, 1962 – January 27, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Elizabeth Kupiec, age 62, who died peacefully on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Autumn Lake Healthcare in Madison, CT.
Mary was born on April 18, 1962, at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, CT. She spent most of her life in Woodstock, CT, though her adventurous spirit led her to Asheville, NC, for a time. She eventually returned to Connecticut to be closer to her beloved granddaughters, whom she adored.
Mary had a heart full of compassion and dedication, especially when it came to caring for others. Prior to her illness, she worked as an in-home health aide for the elderly and disabled with Day Kimball Hospital, a role that reflected her nurturing spirit. Earlier in her life, she worked as a restaurant server, where her warmth and kindness touched many.
Mary also had a profound love for the outdoors. She found peace and joy in tending to her gardens, where she could nurture the beauty of nature as she had so many others in her life.
Above all, Mary’s greatest joy came from caring for her animals, whom she loved like her own children. She also cherished time spent with her family, particularly with her grandchildren. Her family meant the world to her, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Mary is survived by her three children: Justin Andrew Kupiec, Jared William Kupiec, and Katelyn Laura Kupiec; her three grandchildren: Kylye-Ann, Lillith-Rayne, and Aizlynn-Jane; her sisters, Deborah Jane Farquhar and Holly Anne O'Connor Peck; and many other extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Linda Louise Glass Hopkins, and her brother-in-law, Elias Grant Farquhar Jr, and her parents Laura and William Glass.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 4-8 pm at Grill 37 in Pomfret, CT. All are welcome to join her family in remembering and celebrating her vibrant spirit.
