Obituary of Gary M. Sterczala

Gary M. Sterczala, 64, of Dayville, CT passed away February 26, 2025 at Davis Place in Danielson, CT. He was born on January 25, 1961 to the late Chester and Barbara (Harvard) Sterczala. Gary was the beloved husband of Shawn Lehrer.

Gary was a hard worker and loved doing his yardwork. He always liked to help out other people when he could. Gary had a passion for raising money for the MDA Turkey Dip. He was a great father and an avid New England Patriots fan.

He leaves his wife Shawn Lehrer of Dayville, CT; his son Cory Sterczala of Dayville, CT; his daughter Kaleigh Sterczala of Dayville, CT; his brothers Chet Sterczala and his wife Romana of MA and Kevin Sterczala and his wife Sharon of MA; also several nieces and nephews.

Gary was predeceased by a son Jake Sterczala and a brother Larry Sterczala. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to Alzheimer's Association Connecticut, 200 Executive Boulevard, Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 4, 2025 from 10:00 to 12:00 PM at Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, CT. A Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
