Obituary of Kenneth A. Lavallee
Kenneth Lavallee, 62, a lifelong resident of Killingly, Connecticut, passed away peacefully after a short illness in March 2025, holding the hand of his soulmate, Anne Jarvis. Born on January 31, 1963, in Putnam, Connecticut, Ken was the cherished son of the late Karen and Phil Salvas.
For 32 years, Ken and Anne shared a profound and enduring love, navigating life’s highs and lows with a bond that never wavered. Together, they faced every challenge and celebrated every joy, their connection a source of strength and inspiration for others. In 2004, they welcomed their daughter, Kenna Lavallee, who became the light of their lives and Ken’s greatest pride and joy. Kenna inherited so much from her father—his sharp intelligence, boundless creativity, infectious humor, and deep compassion. Ken adored watching her grow into a remarkable young woman, marveling at her talents, from her artistic gifts to her ability to brighten any room with her wit and kindness. He was her biggest cheerleader, always encouraging her to chase her dreams while instilling in her the values of loyalty, generosity, and love. Their bond was a beautiful reflection of Ken’s nurturing spirit, and he treasured every moment they spent together, from quiet talks to shared laughter.
Ken was a proud “Harley guy” with a deep passion for classic cars, often spending Saturday nights at the Tri-State Cruisers car show. Yet, despite his rugged exterior, he was a gentle giant—a teddy bear with a heart of gold. Known for his kindness and compassion, Ken was always ready to help those in need. He cherished fishing, quality time with family and friends, and, most of all, the moments spent with the many children in his life. Watching “his littles” grow brought him immense joy, a treasure he held dear.
A lifelong resident of Killingly, Ken formed unbreakable bonds with friends he considered brothers: Eddy Dudek, Jerry Cummings, and George Robinson. He dedicated nearly 30 years to his work at Bollore in Dayville, where his commitment and character shone brightly. At home, he found comfort in the companionship of his beloved cat, Jasper.
Ken leaves behind his lifelong partner, Anne Jarvis; their daughter, Kenna Lavallee; his brothers, Steven Salvas and Craig Salvas (and his wife, Rhonda); his brother-in-law, Christy Bransfield (and his wife, Nolita); and his aunt and uncle, Gloria and Bob Levesque. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews: Cody Salvas, Hannah Salvas, Ashley Salvas, Renee Salvas (and her children, Jonathan, James, and Hunter), Chris “CJ” Bransfield (his wife, Samantha, and their children, Conner and Elliana), Lauren Vitale (her husband, Sal, and their children, Olivia and Anthony), and Crystal Palombo (her husband, Jason, and their son, Logan).
Ken’s radiant spirit touched countless lives, and his warmth, generosity, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of Ken’s life will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2025, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Evergreen Farms on Route 101 in Dayville, Connecticut. All are welcome to attend and honor his memory. Donations may be made in his name to his favorite local charity, Santa’s Elves, P.O. Box 286, Pomfret, CT 06258.
