

Obituary of Diane A. Landers
DANIELSON, CT - Diane Anne (Gagne) Landers, 82, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Wednesday, April 16, during Holy Week, returning home to her heavenly Father.
Born in Hartford on March 22, 1943, Diane was raised by Antonio and Yvonne Gagne, who nurtured her natural gifts in both math and music. A graduate of Holy Trinity High School's Class of 1961, Diane pursued her passion at the prestigious Hartt School of Music, where she studied music education.
Diane settled in Danielson where she raised her family and was a successful businesswoman and community volunteer. Diane rose through the ranks at the Byrnes Insurance Agency, retiring as comptroller/office manager in 2011 after 38 years at the company. Despite a demanding career, Diane always made time to help others. She was a member of the Killingly Town Council and the first female president of its prestigious Springtime Festival Committee. She was also a dedicated volunteer for the American Cancer Society for many years.
Diane was best known as a talented pianist serving as an accompanist to the Killingly High School choir. In addition to music, Diane loved golfing, reading, socializing with friends and spending time at the beach. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family. She was happiest being a beloved Nana.
Diane’s pride and joy were her two children and their families: daughter Deborah Denno, husband James, of Windsor Locks, CT, and their children Jessica (Joel and children Caleb and Lily), Ryan (Nikki and son JJ) and Taylor; and son David Wright, wife Dorin, of Leicester, MA and their children, Sabrina and Hunter, all of whom will miss her dearly.
In addition, Diane is survived by her sisters, Trudy Comba of Princeville, HI and Victoria Guertin of Wethersfield, CT. She is also survived by 4 nieces, 4 grand-nephews and a grand-niece.
Calling hours will be Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, CT. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10:30 AM at St. James Church, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson, CT, burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
