Obituary of Donna Marie Mimande
Donna Marie (Johnson) Mimande, 62, of North Grosvenordale CT, passed away suddenly on Tuesday September 9, 2025, at Hartford Hospital, Hartford CT.
Donna was born on October 10, 1962, in Webster MA, to the late Henry and Elaine (Gauthier) Johnson. She was one of five children and like a sister to many foster children her parents took in over the years. She worked most her life at Crabtree & Evelyn in Woodstock CT where she was able to travel to Greece among other places and pursue some college to further her education. After Crabtree closed their doors, she worked for Mapfre Insurance in Webster MA and ended her career at Putnam Plastics in Dayville CT.
On August 30, 2021, Donna married her soulmate, Raymond Mimande. Together, she reconnected with Christ and joined the Green Valley Crossing Church in Putnam CT. Ray was Donna’s light in the darkness and he brought so much love and happiness to her life. Together they shared a fur baby Miss Molly Mae. Although just a dog, Molly was a part of the family and treated as one of their children.
Donna was filled with kindness and love, always putting others before herself. Her greatest accomplishment in life was her children who she loved more than words can say. She had 2 children, 3 stepchildren and 4 grandchildren. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her grandchildren, whether it was trips to the Aquarium, the zoo, apple picking, or just simple little visits, her grandchildren made her life brighter, and they meant the absolute world to her. She spent her days enjoying the company of her Husband, family and friends, watching her favorite reality tv shows and soap operas on tv, playing her favorite slots and other games on her tablet, and would never pass up a trip to Foxwoods or Bingo. She loved going out to eat, taking little trips, going to church and most of all her family.
Mother, daughter, sister, wife, friend~ words cannot express how much she is loved and how deeply she will be missed by everyone who's lives she touched. Donna leaves her husband Raymond Mimande of North Grosvenordale, CT; her daughter Amanda Buchanan and fiancé Mark Chapman of Plainfield, CT; her son Ian Williams and his girlfriend Caitlin Kogut of Cumberland, RI; her two stepsons Michael Prim of Putnam, CT and Joshua Mimande of Southbridge, MA; her stepdaughter Ashley Mimande of Manchester, NH; her four grandchildren Aiden and Hailey Gagnon, Landon Williams and Lilian Alcivar; her sister LuAnne Daley and her brother Robert Johnson along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Richard Johnson and sister Linda St. Jean.
