Obituary of Barbara P. Labonte

Barbara P. Labonte, 84, of Putnam, CT passed away Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Matulaitis Nursing Home in Putnam, CT. She was born on February 8, 1941 in Putnam, CT, daughter of the late Raymond and Beatrice (Duff) Boutin. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Labonte he died in 1999.

Barbara was a Communicant of St. Mary Church in Putnam, CT. She devoted her career to helping elderly people with care and compassion. Barbara work as a caregiver with Community Hospice. She had a great love for her home and enjoyed family gatherings on the holidays there. Barbara loved spending her time with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

She leaves her daughters Diane Kozaczka and her husband Kevin of Dayville, CT, Sharron Yargeau of Pomfret Center, CT and Barbara Smolen and her husband Michael of Union, CT; her grandchildren Aaron Sweatman, Andrew Hesson, Brent Hesson, Patrick Yargeau, Erik Yargeau and Kayla Smolen; Also her 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter Lorraine M. Sweatman and her brothers Richard Boutin and Jerry Boutin.

A Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, September 26, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church of the Visitation 218 Providence Street, Putnam, CT burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery Putnam, CT. Share a memory at Smithandwalkerfh.com
