Obituary of Henrique Aguiar

Henrique Aguiar, 89, who came to America in 1977, now of Danielson, CT passed away Monday, September 22, 2025 at his home in Danielson, CT surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness. He was born on September 20, 1936 on the Island of Sao Miguel, Azores, son of the late Manuel C. and Irena (Cabral) Aguiar. He was the beloved husband of Maria Aguiar.

Henrique was a wonderful husband and father, who loved his family very much. He loved gardening and working around the yard. Henrique grew many fruit trees and flowers. He worked for Jacobs Rubber and Acme Cotton as a Machine Operator.

Survived by his wife Maria Aguiar; his children David Aguiar, Leonor Aguiar and Nelia Aguiar; his grandchildren Michael Checkon, Noah Checkon and Isaiah Aguiar; his brother Manuel Aguiar; his sisters Georgina Aguiar, Odette Bernardo and Grace Aguiar.

Calling Hours will be Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, September 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM at St. James Church, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson, CT. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery Danielson, CT.
