Obituary of Roxanna Racine

Roxanna “ Petie” Racine, 82, a Lifetime Woodstock resident, Petie passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday September 27, 2025 in Woodstock, CT. She was born on May 24, 1943 in Putnam, CT. The only daughter of Elizabeth Racine (Saltonstall).

Petie was raised in the historic house that was originally her grandfather Milligan’s country store. Petie held epic Christmas parties and Church services for neighbors and friends spending many hours around her woodstove while countless Budweiser’s were consumed. Summertime was for sitting at her picnic table under the pines where everyone was welcome to stop and pass the time.

Petie took care of the North Woodstock cemetery grounds and held various fundraisers through the years, the annual raffle was her opportunity to hit the road and visit her many friends. She will be missed for her quirky personality, all her Nutty Dobermans, fierce independence and the willingness to help anyone in need.

She was predeceased by her mother Elizabeth Racine. She leaves her cousin Mark Racine and her beloved dog Nutty, along with several cousins and many friends.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 10:00 am at the North Woodstock Cemetery, Woodstock, CT. Share a memory at Smithandwalkerfh.com
