Obituary of Susan Sarah McLane

Susan Sarah McLane, 84, of Putnam, CT passed away unexpectedly on September 15, 2025 at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, MA. Born January 15, 1941 in Cromwell, Connecticut. She was the daughter of the late Oscar Walton McLane, and Marjorie Arlene Sellew who lived in Henderson, NC.

Susan spent time as a youth in Monterey, Mexico and at their lake house in East Hampton, Connecticut for the summer. In her high school years she went to a boarding school in Connecticut and didn’t like to be away from her family. After high school, Susan began her nursing career at the Hartford Hospital.

Susan spent 40 years doing what she loved to do for work. She worked for the State of Connecticut as a CNA with mentally handicapped adults at the Dempsey Regional Center in Putnam, CT where she finally retired in 2009. Susan loved her gardens around her home and feeding the birds and squirrels. This brought her great joy each day.

She was proceeded in death by her brothers Jeffery, Robert, and Mickey. She leaves behind her sons Michael Edeo Clark and his wife, Gretchen, Dr. Todd Christopher Clark and his wife, Kyong. Four grandchildren Ashley Worthington, and Joshua Clark, Allison Taylor, and Phillip LaRochelle. Six great grandchildren Emma and Gracie Worthington, Lucas and Mason LaRochelle, Beau Clark, and Lincoln Edeo Taylor.
