My grandmother, "Mimi as her grandchildren affectionately called her, was a woman who loved. Mimi is a name that became synonymous with the loving spirit she had and thus the name extended beyond the grandchildren to those in her sphere. Mimi was a peacemaker by nature and was troubled when peace eluded any of us. I remember the times as kids we got to go to Mimi and Pop's house and stay a few nights. I remember being sad that we lived further away and didnt get to see them very often. But when we did we had the best time. There weren’t really toys, but we had MOC Corporation letterhead and note pads. We played office. We had the best time. And it was even better when our cousins would come to play. Her famous cry would always ring out to us rowdy kids, “Stay nice!”
Mimi and Pop's home was a hub, a place where the family would come and be together. She cooked all our favorites: pita, chicken divan, and I think someone liked the tuna casserole. So much nostalgia came from this quaint and very meticulously cleaned house that Mimi made a home.
I was with her the day before she fell ill. We had a lovely time together along with my wife and son. We shared a meal, we reminisced, we talked. Mimi wasn’t one for long, drawn-out speeches. Her words were few but poignant. She told me "I believe in forgiveness." It reminded me of the Bible text "Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called the children of God.” (Matthew 5:9) Mimi for sure was a child of God, and I want to be one too. May her legacy of peace live on in all of us. Let’s all stay nice till we meet her again.

Edward, Karen & Family:
I am saddened to hear of Aunt Catherine's passing. She was a beautiful lady with a caring heart. I will always remember how good she was to me and our family. Though this is a time of sorrow, rest assured she is in Heaven with Jesus and Uncle Eddie. My wife, Julianna and I will keep Aunt Catherine and everyone in our thoughts and prayers.
With deepest sympathy,
Louis, Julianna, Amber & Carly Slovensky

Mimi,
You are like my second Mom. You always made me feel comfortable and warm in your home. Sometimes a person can feel lost with such a big family, but you always made me feel right at home. I have always enjoyed our one on one talks and you always welcomed my thoughts. I loved to hear stories about the old country and your heritage. You always fussed over me when visiting. And I do remember you making sure that I had some "Peta" to take home, which you know I loved. Thank you again, for your warmth, your love, your hospitality. I will miss you, as my second Mom, and the love that you gave me. God Speed, God Bless!

To My Love- I can never thank you enough for all you did to help me make Mimi’s final years as comfortable and happy as possible. I couldn’t have done it without your support and encouragement. You also took care of me when I was struggling both physically and emotionally. You were a son to her, and she loved and appreciated you so much.
