Obituary of Roy Anderson

Roy Anderson, 51, of Putnam, CT, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025.

Roy was a man whose presence was immediately known and deeply felt. Strong in both body and spirit, he carried himself with confidence, conviction, and a sincerity that drew people in. He spoke plainly and  valued loyalty. While never one to interfere or impose, he was steadfast and dependable—always present when it mattered most.

He found joy in shared experiences and meaningful conversations. Roy had a deep appreciation for video games, cars, movies, history, and philosophy, especially when those interests brought people together.

Those closest to him knew his protective nature and quiet tenderness. Beneath a sometimes serious exterior was a man capable of warmth, humor, and deep affection. His embraces were reassuring, his loyalty unwavering, and his sense of responsibility toward those he loved came naturally.

Roy was the beloved husband of Shanna (Stamp) Anderson for  12 years. He was born in Staten Island, NY, on June 7, 1974, the son of Allan and Emellie Anderson of Putnam, CT, and the eldest brother of Glenn Anderson and his wife Theresa, and Myra King.

He is survived by his three children Aaliyah Ebanks Stamp, 24, currently serving with the U.S. Air Force; his son, Sean Aiden Stamp, 19, a freshman at Nichols College and Kaona Bennett of Roatán, Honduras; his nieces and nephews Aaron, Simone, Cassandra and Reuben. He is also survived by his aunt, Nedalee Bardales; his uncles Othniel Henry and Junior Anderson; his High School friend Derek Lewis and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Roy’s influence lives on through his family, the community he helped shape, and the many lives touched by his steady presence. His memory will remain.

Calling hours will be Friday, December 26, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds, Street. Danielson, CT. A Funeral Service will start at 5:00 PM at the Funeral Home.

The family will be having a Celebration of Life in honor of Roy on Saturday, 27, 2025 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the Lighthouse Church 33 Plainfield Pike, Plainfield, CT.
