Obituary of Stephen R. Sears
Stephen R. Sears, 78 of Danielson passed away January 27, 2026 at his home. Beloved husband of Elizabeth (Leonard) Sears, they were married August 9, 1969 at St. James Church in Danielson. He was born June 8, 1947 in Killingly, son of the late Peter M. and Ruth (Mason) Sears.
He worked as a Maintenance Mechanic at Anchor Glass Container Corp. in Killingly until its closing, he later retired from Brookwood Laminating, Inc. in Wauregan. Stephen was a very proud Marine; he served during Vietnam. He belonged to the Paul C. Houghton Marine Corps League, VFW 4908 in East Killingly. He was a member of the Veterans Coffee House in Danielson. Stephen was a 20 gallon blood donor and loved classic country music.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, son Adam and his wife Julie of Lebanon, Maine, grandson Matthew Sears of Lebanon, Maine, sister Clara Marando of Brooklyn, CT, numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, siblings Catherine Berube, Richard M. Sears, Elsie Berube and his two infant granddaughters, Noelle and Alexandra.
A Calling hour will be Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 11:00 to 12:00 PM at Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, CT.
