Obituary of Kelly Ann Amado

Kelly Ann Amado, 61 of Putnam died after a long illness at Backus Hospital with her family by her side. She was born in Putnam, CT June 27, 1964 daughter of James Meehan and Linda (Kachuk) Langway.

Above all she loved her family, her cats Elvis and Jasmine and the New York Yankees.   Kelly possessed a charismatic personality which captivated the hearts of all she shared her life with. Her cunning wit and sense of humor were unmatched, to know Kelly was to laugh often, loudly and well.  Her most unmistakable attribute was her magnificent smile that had the power to brighten every room she entered.

Perhaps the single most precious gift she ever possessed was her steadfast, dedicated Catholic faith.  Saint Augustine of Hippo once stated that: “Faith is believing what you cannot see, the reward of faith is seeing what you believe.”  Kelly undoubtedly believed in the promise of Christ’s Triumphant Resurrection over sin and death.  Her mantra until her last days was always “It’s in God’s hands.”  Now for us left behind, we fervently pray that her beautiful eyes and brilliant smile behold the Beatific Vision for all eternity.

Kelly leaves her father James Meehan and his wife Virginia of Waxhaw, NC, mother Linda Langway and sister Kerry Dexter of Lancaster, SC, nieces and nephews Bruce Dexter III of Loretto, PA., Kennedy Dexter of Pomfret Center, CT, Kambryn Dexter of Lancaster, SC, great nephew Lucien Dexter, friend and companion David Stevenson of Putnam, CT, step sisters Bobbie and her husband Shawn Merrill of Waxhaw, NC, Toni Szabo and her husband Craig of Granger, IN, aunts and uncles William Meehan and wife Virginia of FL, Michael Meehan of Thompson, CT, Ann Kopycinski of Waterford, CT, Bernard and Carol Langway, Bridgeport, WV, Leonard and Veronica Langway of Massachusetts. She was predeceased by her stepdad Edgar Langway (2023)
