Obituary of William K. Smith

William Kenneth Smith passed away on March 31, 2026, having lived a full life with his beloved wife Eleanor (Fenner) Smith, family and friends.

Ken was born in Southbridge, MA on August 25, 1936 to the late William J. Smith and Ruth (Morse) Smith.

Ken enjoyed golfing, dancing, playing piano and cornet, and spending time with his family and friends.

Ken and Ellie were married on June 8, 1956. He leaves behind three daughters, Kim Donovan and partner Rocky, Brenda Benoit and husband Albert Jr., and Susan Derosier, husband Philip. In addition, he leaves his grandchildren Sean, Kathy, Jason, Brandy, Bridgette and Max, 6 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Gordon Smith of Plainfield, CT.

Ken was an active lifelong member of the East Woodstock Congregational Church. He enjoyed singing in the choir and occasionally playing piano for services. He worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in Hartford, CT, retiring after 35-plus years.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at the East Woodstock Congregational Church, 220 Woodstock Road on Saturday, April 11 at 11:00 am. Burial will be private.
