Obituary of Deborah Ann Smith

Deborah Ann Smith, 68, of Putnam, CT passed away April 3, 2026 at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT. She was born December 30, 1957 in Putnam, CT, daughter of June (Soule) Wetherell and the late Richard Wetherell

Deborah's early life was marked by her education in Putnam, where she completed her schooling. She worked for many years at National Chromium.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Deborah is survived by her mother, June Wetherell; daughters, Jen Lamoureux, Penny Paquette (husband Kyle), and Melissa Smith; and grandchildren, Chandon Lamoureux and Aubrey Paquette. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. Deborah was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Smith; father, Richard Wetherell; and brother, Michael Wetherell.

Known for her love of cats and bingo, Deborah was a frequent visitor at local church bingo halls and cherished her trips to Foxwoods with her friends. Her afternoons were often spent enjoying episodes of "General Hospital” and watching her grandchildren play sports.
