Jim was three years older than me and, when he entered the teen years, I became invisible (smile). However, when he was nine and I was six, we visited them when he had a new bike and he offered me a ride. At that point, they had a gravel roadway in front of their house. He was showing me how to do some tricks on his bike and, unfortunately, we fell off. I received a nasty cut and still have the scar so I FREQUENTLY think of Jim when I happen to notice it. (I posted pics of him on his bike, along with pics that would have made it to FACEBOOK had that been around in the 40s!! In one, he is at our grandparent's house when he was ring bearer for our aunt; the other is in a pumpkin patch that I assume belonged to our grandparents.) Jim was not a man who faded into the background❣️
