
Obituary of William Withers, Sr.
William “Bill” Withers Sr., 93, of Auburn, MA, formally of Woodstock passed away April 7, 2026 at CareOne in Millbury, MA. He was born in Chester, NY, on June 21, 1932 son of the late Ernest T. and Elis (Vaughan) Withers. He was the beloved husband of Dolores (Bovenzi) Withers.
His family moved to Woodstock in 1934. William loved where he was from, being a lifelong resident of Woodstock was very meaningful to him. He was a member of the Beth Lutheran Church in Auburn Massachusetts. He worked for Bowen‘s Garage in Eastford and Cargill Chevrolet in Putnam retiring in 1992. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Bill was a member of the VFW in Putnam and the American Legion Post 111. He was a member of the retired Men’s club in Greendale, MA, a member of the Auburn Senior Center. William loved going to car shows. He loved to travel with his wife Dolores, with trips to Italy, Alaska, Germany, including many cruises. They were snowbirds for 15 years living in Port Richey, Florida.
He leaves his wife Dolores Withers of Auburn, MA, his former wife, Vicki (Casteel) Withers, children William Withers, Jr, of Danielson, CT, Kimberly (Tom) Withers, of Milford, CT, Carrie Withers of Danielson, CT, Margaret (Michael) Bouvier, of Leicester, MA, Richard Kelley of Chicopee, MA, Brian Kellley of Southbridge, MA, his sister, Sally Hooker of Midland, TX, grandchildren, Stephanie, Benjamin, Sean, Samantha, Jillian and twins Matthew and Megan, great grandchildren, Nala, Jayton, Tiana, Tavian, Kade, Grayson, Lilly, Benjamin. He was predeceased by his siblings, Ernest Withers, Dorothy Szarkowicz, Marjorie Potter, Gwendolyn Potter, Gladys Ekman.
