Obituary of Joseph G. D. Lucier

The Family of Joseph G. D. Lucier, 87, of Danielson, CT, is saddened to announce his passing on April 22, 2026.  He was born July 15, 1938, the son of the late Aimas and Rita (Fregeau) Lucier. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Jeanne (Paradise) Lucier the love of his life, for 55 years, married July 4, 1963.

He leaves behind his children; Donna and Gregory Grauer, and Marc Lucier and Melinda Smith; five grandchildren; Stephanie and Shawn Hoyt, Dane and Schaeffer Grauer, Alana and Vanessa Grauer and Olivia Lucier; four great-grandchildren; Aiden, Caroline, Maya, and Calvin; sister Dolores Senecal; sister-in-law Jaqueline Lucier; several nieces, family and friends.

Predeceased by his brother Joseph R. N. Lucier, his nephew David Lucier, his sister-in-law Sr. Priscilla Paradise and his brother-in-law Conrad Senecal.

Joseph graduated from Putnam Tech and Rhode Island Tech, then enlisted in the Air Force in 1957, proudly serving his country. His career as a Maintenance Electrician included work at several corporations, such as General Dynamics Electric Boat. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Armed Veterans, & American Legion Post 21. Although he dearly missed his wife Jeanne, Pepe loved seeing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; they were his pride and joy. Family and dear friends meant the world to him.

Joseph loved to travel and play cards with Jeanne, volunteer at nursing homes, polka dance, listen to music, and sing. He was an avid sports fan of Notre Dame football, the Dallas Cowboys, the Red Sox, UConn Basketball and Killingly High School Sports.

Joseph held the Military and God in the highest regard, speaking highly of his service, specifically proud of his assignment on Resolution Island. While stationed there he also volunteered to be a Radio Disc Jockey to boost the morale of his fellow troops.

A special thank you to Cinderella, Aunt Martha, Ann, Jackie, Nicole, Mark and Barbara for their continued support, love and special care for Pepe.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to the American Legion Post 21, PO Box 203, Danielson, CT 06239
