Obituary of Carol A. Mitchell

Carol A. Mitchell, 77, of Dayville, CT passed away May 10, 2026 at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, CT. She was the beloved wife of Bernard G. Mitchell. She was born May 4, 1949 in Putnam, CT, daughter of the late Donald “Knobby” H. Brown and Claire M. (Couture) Brown.

Carol loved horses and NASCAR. She also loved spending time with her family and especially with her three beautiful great granddaughters.

She leaves her loving and devoted husband Bernard G. Mitchell; her daughter Heather Brooks (Robert); her son Thomas King; her grandchildren Derek King (Caitlin), Kacey Kruzel (Elenor), Robert C. Brooks and Payton Brooks (Jordan) her three great granddaughters Karissa, MacKenzie and Caleigh; her stepchildren Aaron Mitchell and Melissa Mitchell; her siblings Joanne Thompson, Larry Brown (Susan), James Brown and Tammy Danks (Mark); her brothers-in-law Ronald Mitchell (Marilyn) and Lucien Mitchell. Also, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
