Obituary of Janet Kenyon Hansen
Janet Kenyon Hansen, born on August 1, 1935, to Margaret and Olin Kenyon, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026, surrounded by family. She lived a full and vibrant life, dedicated to her family and all those she loved.
Janet was married to Robert Hansen for 33 wonderful years, sharing a deep bond of love and companionship until his passing. Throughout her life, Janet exemplified devotion and care, beginning her career as an Operating Room Nurse before embracing her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is lovingly remembered by her three children: Heidi Tucker and her husband, Dennis; Robin Dempsey and her husband, Leroy; and Chris Hansen and his wife, Karen.
Janet was a proud grandmother to Brian, Jason, Dillon, and Blu Tucker; Alex, RJ, and Jordan Dempsey; and Ben Hansen. She was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Bentley Dempsey, Lola Tucker, and Freya Tucker.
Family was the center of Janet's life. She poured her heart into nurturing, encouraging, and supporting those she loved, always making sure they knew they were valued and cared for. Whether through her quiet strength, warm laughter, or unwavering love, Janet created a legacy that will continue through the generations of her family.
Janet embraced life with enthusiasm and gratitude. She traveled the world and treasured the adventures and memories she made along the way. She enjoyed many happy hours on the golf course and at the bowling alley. Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life, and she was an active member of the Altar Guild and regularly attended Bible Study at her church.
Her kindness, compassion, and generous spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of her family and friends.
A Celebration of Janet's Life will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 11:00 am at The East Woodstock Congregational Church, 220 Woodstock Road, East Woodstock, CT. Calling hours will be held Friday, August 28, 2026 from 6 to 8:00 pm at Smith and Walker Funeral Home.
