Obituary of Walter N. Talaga
Walter Nicholas Talaga, born on October 13th, 1950, died on Saturday July 25th, 2026 at Day Kimball Hospital surrounded by loved ones after battling a long illness.
He leaves behind two sons; John, whom he cared for 30 years and James Talaga. Two stepdaughters; Katrina Fazzina and her husband Kevin, and Missi Normandin. Five grandchildren; Leah Talaga, Justine Dexter and her husband Shawn, Jordin Fazzina, Kaitlyn Tebo and her husband Tyler and Christian Fazzina. Three great grandchildren; Bentley Fazzina-Tebo, Emersyn and Lennon Dexter. Three siblings; Bud Talaga and his wife Mary, Butch Talaga and his wife Jodi, as well as his sister Sophie. A long-time friend Mike Giacalone and nieces and nephews.
Walter was predeceased by and returns to the loving arms of; his forever wife Marilyn. His parents Jon (Pops) and Janina (Grzelak). His brothers Stanley and Todd.
He was born in Germany and came to the United States as a Polish immigrant, being raised in Manchester, CT.
One of six children born to Jon and Janina (Grzelak) Talaga.
He graduated in 1967 from Howell Cheney Technical School. He lived in Manchester before settling in Woodstock and Putnam, CT later in life. Walter built thousands of homes throughout his life.
His love, happiness and energy would find focus and anchor around his late wife Marilyn and the family that they formed and brought together. He enjoyed and took great pride in his trade, he worked from sunup to sundown, working until he no longer could. He was a man who was fiercely loyal and ever-giving to his friends.
When he was alone, you could find him outside, often going on long walks and enjoying nature. As well as, golfing in the warm sun of Florida.
