Obituary of Debra Devine

Debra Jean Radel Devine, 65 of Danielson, CT passed away August 19, 2026 at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, CT. Deb was born May 9, 1961 in Phoenixville, PA, daughter of William L. Radel and Diane Ouellette Radel Boivin. She grew up in Pomfret, CT until her family moved to Brooklyn, CT.

She attended Pomfret, Brooklyn and Killingly Schools. Deb also attended Endicott College in MA and returned to the area at that time. Later on she lived on the west coast and places abroad, she returned to the area after almost twenty years, with the hope of sobriety with the support of her family. She has lived in many places in her life, including California, Thailand, Texas, Singapore, Rhode Island and Connecticut. Deb was a free spirit, creative and loved art and beauty. She enjoyed several hobbies; jewelry making, furniture restoration, loved animals and teaching Sunday School. Deb loved her family and her wild adventures.

She leaves her siblings Bill Radel (Kathy), Jim Radel (Sandy), Carol Palonen (Phil), Ed Stover, Kip Stover (Pauline); her step brother Charlie Boivin (Melissa); her close companion Daniel Porter.  Also many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews, who mourn the time they did not have with Deb. Although she did not have children of her own, she was loved by many including her stepchildren.

She was predeceased by both of her parents, Diane and William L. Radel.

As her family we pray she is in the arms of Jesus and she is finally able to break free of this dreaded disease of Alcoholism.
