Obituary of Rose Anna Egan

Rose (Carrier) Egan, 92, of Maple Court, Danielson, died Tuesday at the Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. She was the wife of the late William J. Egan, he died November 14, 1992. She was born July 22, 1917 in Sherbrook, Canada, daughter of the late Nazaire and Mary (Collins) Carrier. She came to the United Sates at the age of 5, her family relocated to Rogers, where she attended the former Goodyear School and Killingly High School, graduate Class of 1934. She worked in the textile industry for many years. Her last place of employment was at the Hale Manufacturing where she worked for 24 years, she retired in 1981. She enjoyed playing cards, and spending time with her family. She was most proud of her granddaughter Megan, who was her greatest love. Rose was a former communicant of St. Ignatius Church, served as president for many years of the St. Ignatius Rosary Society of Rogers. Rose was a member of the Killingly/Brooklyn VFW ladies Auxiliary, American Legion, the Am Vets Auxiliaries and a member of the Quinebaug Valley Senior Citizens. She leaves her daughter: Mary Egan of Rogers; her beloved granddaughter: Megan Robinson of Rogers; three brothers: Henry Carrier of Rogers; Joseph Carrier and his wife Betty of Putnam; Francis Carrier of Wauregan; three sisters: Rita Levola of Danielson; Edna Cusson of Ballouville; Ella Willard of Putnam; several nieces and nephews; she was predeceased by her siblings: Napoleon Carrier; Albert Carrier; Yvonne Allen; Theresa Bachand and Agnes Carrier. The Funeral will be Saturday at 10:30 AM from the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, 350 Hartford Pike, Dayville, CT. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson. Calling Hours will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
