Obituary of Bertha Frances Defilippo

Davenport, FL- Bertha Frances Defilippo, 93, of Belle Isle Court, Davenport, FL, died Monday, December 7, 2009. Bertha was born July 4, 1916 in Central Falls, Rhode Island, daughter of the late Ignatius and Frances (Smolinski) Golas. Bertha was predeceased by her first husband, Charles Gagnon in 1960 and her second husband Louis Defilippo in November 2001. She resided in Danielson and Putnam for most of her life prior to her move to Florida in 2001. She had been previously employed by the former Jacobs Rubber in Danielson for 32 years, retiring in 1978. She was a former member of the Ladies of St. Anne's, the Quinebaug Valley Senior Citizens and the Thompson Senior Citizens. She leaves a daughter Terry Gagnon-Sampiere and her husband Peter of Davenport, FL; a son Robert Gagnon and his wife Corey of Davenport, FL, a step-daughter Vivian Perkins and her husband Charles of ME, a sister Helen Mastrangelo of Zephyrhills, FL, two grandsons Wayne Simoneau, Jr. of ME; Allen Gagnon of FL; two granddaughters Roxanne Ryan of CT; Kimberly Gagnon of FL, a great grandson, Wyatt Simoneau of ME; two step grandsons: Charles Perkins of ME; Craig Perkins of CT; a step great granddaughter Ashleen Perkins of ME. She was also predeceased by a son, Charles Gagnon, Jr. in January 1941; a sister Frances Turcotte; brothers: John; Stanley and Anthony Golas. Funeral Services will be Friday, December 11, 2009 at 9:15 AM from the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, followed by a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. James Church, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson. Calling hours 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday at the Funeral Home. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery in Danielson.
