Elizabeth L. McGovern, 99, Elizabeth was born on June 11, 1910 the daughter of Lily May Stevens and Henry Hurdman. She survived her husband, John T. McGovern, half sister Caroline Grundlock, half brother Everett Campbell and grandson Scott J. Cartier. She is survived by her children Vera Flight (David), John H. McGovern and Jane Cartier (James) her grandchildren David H. Flight, Ellen Flight, Susan Larabee (Whit), John E. McGovern, Judy Mossy (David), Michael McGovern, Nancy Piasta, Steven Cartier (Debbie) and Sheila Gadaree (Chris), her great grandchildren David, Zachary, Emma, Angela, Ron, Davy, Garrett, James and Audrey and one great-great grandchild, Anthony. Family and friends will gather at the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove St., Putnam, CT between 11:00 and 1:00 on Wednesday, January, 6, 2010. Burial will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Aspinock Historical Society or the charity of your choice. A reception will be held at the Elks Club on Edmond St. Putnam.
