Obituary of Ralph L. Bernier

Ralph L. Bernier, of East Killingly, passed away April 23, 2010 at home with his family by his side after a long illness. He was born August 3, 1924 in Brooklyn, CT, son of the late Leo and Bertha Bernier. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Theresa (Martin) Bernier; two daughters Jeanne Geer and her husband James of Hebron, CT, Michele Bernier-Johnson and her husband Bob Johnson of Phoenix, AZ, one sister Marlene Lambert and her husband Henry of Woodstock.

Ralph was a veteran of WWII and served in the European Theater as a Ball Turret Gunner in the US Air Force. He was a member of the Plainfield VFW Post 5446. After the war he ran his own plumbing and heating business for his entire career. Upon retirement Ralph enjoyed traveling with his wife Theresa, as well as flying his own Cessna airplane. Ralph and Theresa also spent many winters in Florida.

Services and burial are private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ralph's memory to the Plainfield VFW Post 5446, 7 Windsor Avenue, Plainfield, CT 06374-1037.
