Obituary of Albina Parent

Brooklyn-Albina Parent, 96, of Brooklyn, CT died Saturday September 11, 2010 at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. She was born in Putnam, February 11, 1914, daughter of the late Alphonse and Rosalba (Langlois) Parent.

She lived in Woodstock, CT as a child and attended the local schools. Miss Parent worked in the Textile Industry for over 25 years. In the 1940's she went to work for the Kaman Aircraft Corp. in Moosup as an assembler a job she had for ten years. Miss Parent's final employment was with the American Standard Corp. in Plainfield, CT, where she was a production worker, a position she held for ten years until her retirement in 1976. Albina was a Communicant of St. James Church in Danielson, CT, a member of the Quinebaug Valley Senior Citizens and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post #2650 in Danielson. She enjoyed reading and doing word puzzles. She was the last member to pass away in a family of fourteen. She also leaves her extended family of Mildred Wade of Brooklyn, CT; Dennis Wade of New London, CT and JoAnn Ethier of Newton, NC, sister-in-law, Theresa Parent and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. James School or St. James Church, 12 Frankiln Street, Danielson, CT 06239. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, September 17, 2010 at 10:00 AM in St. James Church, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson, burial at St. Mary Cemetery Putnam, CT, followed by a reception at 12 Noon at Hanks Restaurant in Brooklyn.
