Charles was a dairy farmer for many years and owned both Bonnie View and Spring Brook Farms until going to work for his son in the construction industry. In later years, he enjoyed woodworking, travel, maintaining his property and gardening with Priscilla. Charles was well known for his knowledge of Woodstock history and collection of old photographs. He always looked forward to collecting books, reading and playing online games with his cousin Ellen West in Florida which he enjoyed until just recently.
Besides being predeceased by his wife, he leaves his son Charles Cady and his wife Aulikki of Woodstock, granddaughter Annina Keegan and her husband John of Chicago, IL, grandson Alex of Woodstock, brothers-in law Frank & Patsy Converse and John & Judy Converse.
