Obituary of Alfred C. Warren

Alfred C. Warren 96, of Eastford, died Monday at the ST Joseph Living Center in Willimantic. He was the beloved husband of Mary "Sally" (Whittenburg) Warren, they were married January 19, 1944. Born October 6, 1912 in Eastford, son of the late William S. and Mary (Bosworth) Warren. He owned and operated Warren Sales and Service in Eastford for over twenty five years. Alfred had made his home in Eastford all his life, an active member of the Congregational Church of Eastford for many years. He served on the Eastford Board of Education for seventeen years, all as chairman. He was a charter member of the Eastford Independent Fire Company and a 75 year member of the Grange. He was a member of the Woodstock Agricultural Society and had served as president. He was also a member of the Putnam Masonic Lodge in Woodstock. He leaves in addition to his wife Sally, his daughter: Mary "Janie" Grube and her husband Guy of Eastford; four grandchildren: Holly Singleton and her husband Tyler of Eastford; Michael Grube and his wife Molly of Providence; Karen Chartier and her husband John of Eastford; Kenneth Grube and his wife Holly of Eastford; nine great grandchildren; a sister: Margaret Day of Eastford; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings: Summer Warren and Carolyn Day. A Memorial Service will be Friday at 2:00 PM at the Congregational of Eastford, 8 Church Road, Eastford.
