Obituary of Arvid D. Anderson

Arvid D. Anderson, 70, of Eastford, died Saturday, September 19, 2009 at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, MA. He was the beloved husband of Patricia K. King, they were married November 3, 1962, she died December 8, 2008. He was born June 26, 1939 in Putnam, son of the late Arvid E. and Doris (Maloney) Anderson. He served with the US Army. He had made his home in Eastford for the last 47 years, formerly of East Woodstock. For over forty-five years he operated, with his wife, King Trucking Company in Eastford. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and UCONN Women's Basketball, spending time at the shore in Maine, enjoyed traveling. He was a former member of the Eastford Volunteer Fire Department and was a selectman for the Town of Eastford in the 1970's. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He leaves his children: Douglas L. Anderson and his wife Cynthia of Eastford; Erin Gaudreau and her husband Scott of Brooklyn; Otto Anderson and his wife Rebecca of Woodstock, grandchildren Michael Anderson; Alyssa Anderson; Jessica Benoit; Cody Benoit; Kayla Gaudreau; Matthew Gaudreau; Chase Anderson and Parker Anderson, a brother Ted Anderson of Woodstock, a sister Signe Stevens of Woodstock, several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, September 26, 2009 at the Grove Cemetery in Eastford.
