John C. Morrison, 72, of Proulx Street, Brooklyn, formerly of Danielson, died Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Day Kimball Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Phyllis (Frechette) Morrison; they were married June 26, 1970 in Elkton, MD. He was born June 1, 1937 in New London, son of the late John E. and Hazel (Jones) Morrison. He served in the US Navy. John worked as a supervisor at the former Pervell Corp for 27 years and Loos and Company as a foreman for 23 years; he retired in 2008 due to his illness. This past spring he went sky diving for the first time with his son Peter. He enjoyed building model cars and jigsaw puzzles. John was a devoted, loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and brother. He leaves his wife Phyllis, sons: Scott Morrison of Albuquerque, NM; Michael Carnelli of Plainfield; Peter Carnelli Summerville, SC; Christopher Carnelli of Danielson; Darrin Carnelli of Danielson; his siblings: Richard Morrison of Danielson; Muriel Suprenant of Brooklyn; Patricia Bedard of Brooklyn; Carol Tourtelotte of Danielson; grandchildren: Christopher; Andrea, Ann-Marie, Lane, Keifer, Braydon; Dakota; Maliya, several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, CT. There will be an Hour of Calling from 10:00 AM until time of Service.
