Obituary of Lloyd J McMerriman
Lloyd J. "Mac" McMerriman, 75, of Brickhouse Road, Danielson, CT, died Friday, December 25, 2009 after a short illness with his loving family at his side at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester. Husband of Marcella (Malboeuf) McMerriman, they were married in St. James Church, April 12, 1958. He was born December 20, 1934 in Putnam, son of the late James L. and Mary (Shimski) McMerriman.
He had made his home in Killingly all his life, a communicant of St. James Church, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Lloyd worked at the former Pervel Industries for thirty seven years as office manager, after retiring he went to work at Foxwoods where he worked for over fifteen years. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, and New York Giants fan. He had a great passion and love of all sports, over the years attending his children and grandchildren's sporting events. He enjoyed playing golf and shooting pool. He will be remembered as a compassionate husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
He leaves in addition to his wife Marcella, his son: John McMerriman and his wife Alma of Danielson; three daughters: Laurie Brunsdon and her husband Edward of Killingly; Judith Graves and her husband Stephan of Killingly; Sandra Schena and her husband Jeffrey of Brooklyn; his siblings: Eugene McMerriman and Joan McMerriman both of Brooklyn; a special sister-in-law: Docina Bourque of Killingly; ten grandchildren: Ryan; Devon; Jordan; Riley; Randy; Amanda; Avery; Max; Sarah; Dylan and his dog Chloe. He was predeceased by his twin sister: Lois Vandale.
A Memorial Mass with be Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 10:30 AM at St. James Church, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson, CT. No Calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to The St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
