Obituary of Aaron J. Parent

Aaron J. Parent, 21, of Route 171, Woodstock, CT died unexpectedly Friday morning, January 22, 2010. He was the son of Robert J. Parent of Woodstock and Carol (Lyon) Parent of Webster, MA. He was born September 29, 1988 in Putnam. He was a 2007 graduate of the HH Ellis Technical School in Danielson. Aaron was employed at Union Roto-Graving in Putnam working in chrome plating. He had a great love for auto, motorcycle and Go Kart racing, enjoyed watching NASCAR. He was a two time track champion and the youngest driver to win the Pomfret 200 race. He was a very gifted Go Kart Driver. Aaron was a member of the Tri State Kart Club and a former champion. He won three consecutive Joseph H. Parent Memorial Races in memory of his grandfather. He leaves his father, Robert; mother Carol and her friend Bill; his aunt and Godmother, Doreen McGuire and her husband David of Stafford Springs; also his aunt: Helen Ida Lyon of Ruskin, FL; Rose Stryczek of Nixa, MO; Beverly Plasse of Norwich; Ida Perkins of Danielson, his cousins: Angela Wheeler and her husband Christopher; Alexander J. Salony; Jessica McGuire; David McGuire, Jr.; Ellen Haag; Rebecca Diggs; Caitlin Lawn; Brandon Plasse; Andrew Richardson; Heather Richardson; Ty Diggs; Haley Diggs; Mia Diggs; Kaylie Wheeler; Jaden Wheeler, Braxton Wheeler, and many close friends, some who were like brothers to him. The Funeral will be Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at 10:00 AM from the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Most Holy Trinity Church, 568 Pomfret Street, Pomfret.
