Obituary of Robert L. Weaver
Robert L. Weaver, 86, of Fabyan Road, North Grosvenordale, CT, formerly of Brooklyn, CT, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at the Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Florina (De Villez) Weaver, they were married August 12, 1944, in St. James Church. He was born August 12, 1923, in Dayville, the son of the late Daniel and Helen (Lehrer) Weaver.
He had made his home on Bailey Street in Brooklyn for many years, moving to North Grosvenordale 3 1/2 years ago. He was a graduate of Killingly High School, and after graduating he delivered milk for Deary Brothers, he then became employed by the Brooklyn School System, he worked as a head custodian for over 28 years, retiring in 1995. He also worked for American Thread in Willimantic. He was a communicant of St. James Church in Danielson. He enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Brooklyn Country Club, he also enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family.
He leaves his wife of 65 years, Florina, his daughters: Jo-Anne Bryer and her husband Douglas of North Grosvenordale, CT; Diane Sorel and her husband Raymond of Dayville, CT; a brother: Richard Weaver of Dayville, CT; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandsons; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Lawrence Weaver.
