John (Crunch) was a good friend & respected for his humor, leadership & among other things his mechanical ability. If it needed fixing, John would figure it out.
Rest in peace John!

John was a pleasure to know and to serve with. It would be impossible to forget that

My memories of “Crunch” were of the 1980s AVCRAD when we all worked hard and somehow found the time to play softball, golf and venture to Sneekers together as a unit. He was always a gentleman and a good man. My sympathies to his family, I’m sure he will be missed.

I worked with John at the AVCRAD just after it was formed from the TARS. I was new to the aircraft world and John took me under his wing and showed me the ropes. He was kind and generous with his years of experience. He was a great co-worker and a friend.

I always looked up to John in so many ways. When others were giving up at the task at hand in Desert Storm, he just kept working and leading by example. He had a dry sense of humor that was often tossed in at just the right moment. I feel lucky to have known him and my heart goes out to all his loved ones in sympathy and prayer, that they can take comfort in the good memories of such an honest and honorable man.
