Obituary of Mary W. Warren

Mary "Sally" Warren November 10, 1923 - April 29, 2010 Eastford - Mary "Sally" Warren, 86, of Eastford, died Thursday at the ST Joseph Living Center in Willimantic. She was the beloved wife of, Alfred C. Warren they were married January 14, 1944, he died May 18, 2009. Born November 10, 1923 in Vian, Oklahoma, Daughter of the late Walter W. and Ila (Jones) Whittenburg. Sally had made her home in Eastford most of her life, a member of the Congregational Church of Eastford. She always enjoyed her annual trip back to Oklahoma, to visit her family. She worked at American Optical as a secretary, at Buell's Greenhouse; and as a clerk at the Eastford Post Office. She leaves her daughter: Mary "Janie" Grube and her husband Guy of Eastford; four grandchildren: Holly Singleton and her husband Tyler of Eastford; Michael Grube and his wife Molly of Newington, NH; Karen Chartier and her husband John of Plano, TX; Kenneth Grube and his wife Holly of Eastford; ten great grandchildren; a brother: Mickey Whittenburg of Kiln, Miss; a sister-in-law: Margaret Day of Eastford; nieces and nephews and her good friends, Richard and Nancy Holzshu of Reedville, VA. A Memorial Service will be Monday at 2:00 PM at the Congregational of Eastford, 8 Church Road, Eastford. Donations may be made in her memory to the William S.
