Obituary of Harold F. Herre
Harold F. Herre, Jr., 71, of Rocky Hill Rd, Woodstock, died Tuesday at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. Husband of Elizabeth "Betty" (Spraske) Herre. She died December 24, 2002. He was born in New Britain, son of Harold F. and Alice M. (Cofran) Herre, Sr.
He worked at Bousquet's Appliance & TV in Danielson. He lived in Woodstock all his life, a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd. He had a great love for his dogs and was a great fan of Auto Racing, attended many events at the Stafford Motor Speedway. He enjoyed auctions, eating out, antique car shows, scrapbooking, a huge fan of the UConn Women's Basketball.
He leaves his companion and best friend, Beverly Demers of Putnam, a son Harold F. Herre, III of Portsmouth, NH, a daughter Donna of Norwich, close friends Marc Lambert of Woodstock, Kathleen Donovan of Putnam, a sister Barbara Herre of Woodstock and nephews. Predeceased by a sister Loretta Lyon.
A calling hour Tuesday, May 4, 2010 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam with a Funeral Service at 2:00 PM. Burial in Barlow Cemetery. Donations to the American Cancer Society . www.smithandwalkerfh.com
