Obituary of Theodore C. Szafranski

Theodore D. Szafranski, 91, of Rogers, CT died unexpectedly Sunday, May 2, 2010 at the Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He was born August 21, 1918 in Killingly, CT, son of the late Joseph and Catharina (Lekarczyk) Szafranski. He attended local schools including Killingly High School. Following his education he went to work for Rogers Corporation, and held several positions from Slitter to Calendar helper to inspector in the Teflon Division. Ted retired in 1980 after 43 years. He was a communicant of ST Joseph Church in Dayville and a long time communicant of ST Ignatius Church in Rogers, where he served as an usher and a trustee of the church. A life member of the K of C #10454 in Rogers and a Past Inter Guard, a life member of the United Paper Workers International Union Local #48 and a member of the Quinebaug Valley Senior Citizens . Ted was a member of the American Relay Radio League of Ham Operators, a hobby he enjoyed for over 50 years. He enjoyed walking. He was an avid Baseball Fan, and in his youth played semi-pro baseball. He leaves nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings: Bronsilaw Szafranski; Genevieve Correia. The Funeral will be Thursday at 9:30 AM from the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, CT followed by a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at ST Joseph Church , Dayville, CT. Calling Hours Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to ST Joseph Church.
